San Francisco - Part II

by

Our second day in the city was even better than the first (but also a little bittersweet, knowing we had to go home that night). Husband got to sleep in (Becks was having none of sleeping past 7am, so we entertained ourselves for a couple of hours while daddy caught up on some much needed sleep) and then the adventures began!

Cutest little early bird.

Foggy mornings are my favorite mornings!

Waiting for brunch.

For brunch, we went to Sweet Maple, home of the "famous Millionaire's Bacon". The wait was long (over an hour), but that's to be expected for popular brunch destinations in the city. The food was good brunch fare, although we've been to better places (Mark said it was not his favorite, but a large part of that was probably due to the long wait & therefore fussy baby). The bacon was really good, albeit pricey ($6.75 for a side of two pieces of bacon). It's thick cut and baked with brown sugar, then topped with red & black pepper. I'd recommend it if you have a lot of time to wait, or get there really early (before they open). We both had different benedicts, which were really tasty.

After brunch, we drove up to Twin Peaks to take some selfies and admire the view. Becks was asleep, which is why he's absent from the photo.

After Becks' afternoon nap, we went in search of good donuts and ended up at Bob's Donut & Pastry Shop in Nob Hill. We were there pretty late in the day, so it was not crowded and they still had a great selection. Mark had a few different cake donuts, and Becks and I shared an apple fritter. It was the best apple fritter I've had, definitely recommend!

Breaking out my jean jacket was one of my favorite things about visiting SF. I'm a little tired of the 90 degree days in Davis...come on, fall!

After leaving SF, we headed to Berkeley for some shopping before dinner at Spenger's.

We had such a great trip to the city! I'm already planning our next trip back. We want to take Becks to the zoo, walk around Golden Gate Park and find some new favorite places to eat. Hopefully we can go around Christmas time, I love when the city is all decorated for the holidays!
